Siberian, If you haven't tried cultured veggies (for you and Rocky) I would highly recommend it!!! In trying to find information for you I stumbled across the below info from Dr. Mercola's site. I first learned about cultured (fermented) veggies from the Land of Pure Gold site I had mentioned in a previous post. I then read more on the Weston

Re: Antioxidants during Chemotherapy
Missing Link is, imo, a good brand.. My first holistic vet (moved) recommended it for my kids. But Audrey (kidney girl) developed an allergy to bone meal so Missing Link is out for us. Instead, I give Solid Gold Seameal with added spirulina and wheat germ. I have to wonder how effective these products are though except in the healthiest of animals.

Re: Antioxidants during Chemotherapy
Still couldn’t find the original paper – but, from the Oxford Journals – “ Abstract Sulforaphane (SFN), a constituent of cruciferous vegetables, is highly effective in affording protection against chemically induced cancers in animal models. Here, we report that SFN inhibited proliferation of cultured PC-3 human prostate cancer

Re: Antioxidants during Chemotherapy
This is my take from the information I’ve researched over the last couple years. Synthetic antioxidants can be harmful for the reasons below while antioxidant rich foods (or supps made from food) are helpful. The below info pertains to human studies but surely would apply to our pets as well. Below are several quotes from a 14 page paper in the

Re: Help needed - not sure where to turn next
Hi Siberian, I’ve never been in this situation but I believe if I were, I would ditch the chemo and go with the alternatives only…. But, that’s me. You have to do what feels best for you. I would highly recommend considering supplementing with alternatives suggested if you decide on the chemo though. If you look at cancer, any disease

Re: Healthy Pets Complete Probiotic
Okay, here's an instance where I should take my own advice..... Preboiotic foods - good. Isolate the substances from the food and create potential imbalances!! Nutritionism at its finest!!!! Lesson learned here - practice what I preach..... Avoid nutritionism.... Burdock root, garlic etc healthful - isolated FOS/Inulin (such as acacia fiber or gum

Re: Turmeric/curcumin safe for dogs?
Hi Siberian, I have been using organic turmeric in my Pom for almost a year now. Five days on two per day - two days off. She has a lipoma on her neck. I first read about using turmeric for lipomas on Dr. Demian Dresslers website. Dr. Dressler wrote a book called "The Dog Cancer Survival Guide. This is a quote from his site... "Curcumin is

Re: Overweight dog
I, for once, am more interested in the medical issue then the diet… If you read any back threads you will know that I have an opinion about almost every kibble.. I blame genetics / my Dad for that J or is it L ?? Hee hee Anyway, my Pomeranian Peanut was diagnosed with severe luxating petellas (kneecap pops out) in both back legs when I got her
