Re: Flea problems
No 90 day products that won't toxify you and your babies. The topical products you are also using are neurotoxins, so apply with care! Vacuuming, although a complete pain, is a simply, nontoxic and fairly effective way of removing flea larvae and eggs, but you must treat both the environment (vacuum and use diatomaceous earth) as well as your pets

Re: Uri from adopted cat, my persian very sick now with severe eye ulcers
Huge ulcers means huge problems and the icky fact that you'll need to act fast, in huge way to prevent significant scarring of her cornea. Does she have KCS (did they check for "dry eye?"). It's probably time you see an eye specialist....call your local GP and ask who specializes in eyes, then make a visit ASAP. A growing ulcer is

Re: Help needed - not sure where to turn next
I would read the info at the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology ( www.vsso.org , look under cancer information, then 'dog cancer, by type' then 'mast cell'). Depending on the type of chemo you may have from 0% to 49% effectiveness of chemo to temporarily reduce mast cell populations, but not cure . I think it's really important

Re: Antioxidants during Chemotherapy
I've read the articles suggesting antioxidants should not be used during chemo, but you have to factor in the test studies. For more information about the truth of matter (imo) visit www.cancerdecisions.com and search 'antioxidants and chemotherapy." In a nutshell, the vast majority of non-biased, recent reseach demonstrates antioxidants

What are the Dangers of Mutating Pet Flu Viruses, and Does Your Pet Need a Flu Shot?
On October 20, Fox News reported that dog flu, also known as H3N8, or CIV for Canine Influenza Virus, could be added to the list of illnesses to think about if you’re a dog owner. CIV is reportedly a mutated form of Equine Influenza, or horse flu, and was first discovered about three years ago. CIV is thought to be mild in most cases with a mortality

Re: Low residue diet
I have used this product on lots of large/giant breed dogs requiring a low residue diet without any complications at all...there's not enough alfalfa to ferment (fermentation produces gas, gas causes bloat)!

Re: when do we change from three feedings a day to two feedings a day for a puppy?
Although there are lots of variables that go into this answer (but primarily involving other sources of calories and for pups... this means TREATS!), in a nutshell around 16 weeks. The reason we recommend feeding pups 3 times daily is to keep blood sugar levels from fallling in the early afternoon. Puppies are active, and will only 2 meals a day (and

Re: Rottie with knee problems
I'm sad your vet didn't recommend more aggressive support after her initial injury :(....at this point I'm sure she's very arthritic and compensated in other ways (her "good" leg is probably very tired and strained). I am assuming she tore her ACL (this is very common with the breed)...did your vet give you a diagnosis?? I
