Re: L-Carnitine
Congratulations for a job well done! Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll get the desired weight you wish to have. And I have to agree L-Carnitine is most helpful in burning fats. But make sure to continue pushing yourself to do more (like increase speed in walking or take a longer route) just to give a variety to your daily exercise. L

Help On Menopause
Hi, Finally a forum on women's health. My wife is currently undergoing menopause and I was wondering if any of you ladies here can share your experiences on the subject matter and how your husbands handled it. I know the basics but I can't relate to what she actually feels. Sometimes she gets mad at little things for no reason at all. Is this

Re: Destilled Water - Reverse Osmosis
Hi Erich, I too also asked the same question since I have the same system (which is the water distiller setup). Anyway, as far as I know (researching different opinions and facts online and offline) I came to find out that taking away the minerals from the water can be a non-issue to a select people provided that they get the minerals from food sources

Re: Sleepiness
Hi Sharon, As far as I know, starches and sweets high in carbohydrates, high fat foods and large meals will make you sleepy. With regards to the caffeine, i bet its a side effect if you reach your limit. My Mom and Dad before use to drink brewed cofee after dinner to make them fall asleep. I'm not sure though if its relevant but I bet it has something

Re: Pre-Diabetic Information
HI, for prediabetic it is strongly recommended to do 5 times a week low to moderate resistance exercise. This will help in improving insulin sensitivity and glycemic control. I suggest you ask your gym instructor regarding resistance exercise. by the way, how old is your relative so that you can pattern the dieat with the recommended exercise. :)

Re: Transdermal Magnesium Lotion vs. Oral Supplements
Hi MarthaB! Base on my experience, i take it orally and so far it has been effective. I also back it up by eating whole grains, legumes, and dark green leafy vegetables (like spinach).

Re: Is Type 2 Diabetes Hereditary?
Hi, I came from a family with a history of diabetes and as far as i know, Type 2 diabetes is fairly hereditary in contrast to type 1. Approximately 38% of siblings and one third of children of people with type 2 diabetes will develop diabetes or abnormal glucose metabolism at some point. Development of Type 2 diabetes seems to be multi-factorial...that

Re: Can protein types eat sauerkraut and other lacot fermented veggies??
Hi Janice! Here is a nice site that gives you a simple step by step process in making sauerkraut: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Sauerkraut and http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/nutrition/DJ1091.html Also, i have been freezing my sauerkraut for years, the longer it is in the freezer the softer it gets. I like it best if its fresh out of the crock
