What about organic soy milk? Isn't that beneficial for you?

Typo - Meant to say "Has Raw Milk
been
tried first?"
Dr Mercola says NO to regular "cooked" milk.

It seems to me that while water is the superior choice when it comes to beverages, I would not necessarily see it as an appropriate answer to the question. I would interpret the question to be an inquiry about what could be used in place of cow's milk that has similar qualities or properties. For example water certainly would not a very good substitute for cow's milk in many baking applications.
I would think that raw organic grassfed cow milk was a good suggestion and has been promoted on this web site as well as other reputable sites. Also, raw organic goat milk is another possible alternative.
As far as using soy milk, there is far too many down sides to it for it to be a good candidate as a replacement. That link that NaturalHealthLover offered is just one of many that explains why.

How about nut milks? I use unsweetened almond milk by Blue Diamond to cook with or make smoothies, any time a recipe calls for milk.

As a blood type O there's never been a time when dairy has been an option for my diet. However, on a previous order you included three packs of the whey protien powder to try. Amazingly, it was wonderful, with no ill effects at all. In addition, it really held my hunger longer than steak for breakfast. How is this possible, why is this product different than other protien mixes which have been so disappointing? I now use all three on a regular bases. Thanks for the gift that added to my life.

The best choice, which we recommend to our cancer support members, who are taking our cancer recovery course at
www.friendswithcancer.com.au
, is
goat milk
.... I am a recoverer myself , and an avid follower of Dr. Mercola, and as this is my 9th year of good health I say this ......
....who am I to ignore Proverbs 27 v 27 "and you shall have goat milk for you food, for you household and ( I like this part) for the maintenance of your maidens. " We buy it pasturised from Woolworths.

I have searched VAT on mercola and only find it mentioned but no response to is it ok to drink. I really want to know because I don't want to waste my money paying 3 times as much for it as conventional especially if it is not good for me.

Assumes a newborn context. Duped from goats milk Q.
Real background information is always useful.
So.
Growing up we had goats and rabbits, we used for milk and meat.
Personally, I didn’t like the taste of goats milk all that much.
(But I do now believe it’s one of the reasons I’ve never had stomach problems)
As meat goes, it’s a bit on the stringy side, give me fried rabbit anytime, just like chicken!
Needless to say that’s what we had, that’s what we ate and drank.
Usually twice a year, we’d have a woman show up who couldn’t feed her newborn with her own milk.
It would “sour” on the baby’s stomach. (At least that’s the term that was used, almost 4 decades ago)
It always worked.
Interesting enough, they didn’t need to use it for longer than a few weeks.
The baby could handle “other” milk after using the raw goats milk.
I’ve come to believe that the majority of people do not have milk “allergies”.
They simply can’t handle breaking down milk that has been turned into a plaster of Paris concoction.
To your great health.
GS

Hi, I'm a new member and I don't really know quite how this whole thing works yet, but I do have a concern regarding raw milk. My whole family has been drinking it every day now for about a year and we love it. We're planning on conceiving another child soon and I'm not so sure I should continue drinking raw milk during my pregnancy...would anyone care to tell me what they think? I am convinced that drinking milk raw is the best way to go, but I can never find extensive information about whether some of these things are safe during pregnancy? It seems to me that it may be a little risky.

do you guys realize that we are the only animal on the face of the earth that consumes milk after we have been weaned and the only species that will drink another species milk? I agree with the answer of "pure water". If the problem is calcium we can get calcium from many other natural sources like dark leafy green veggies and broccolli; if it is a question of baking we can use some alternatives even though water is a likely alternative; there is rice and almond milk. however you have to be careful when purchasing even these as some of them do contain soy and/or carageenan. problem is we want to be healthy but we fail to remember that our taste buds have become so perverted that it may take time to readjust to a healthy way of eating.
