There is an amazing amount of confusion about this issue. Please realize soy is NOT a toxic poison that needs to be avoided at all costs. Fermented soy is actually a health food.

Soy is typically only a problem when it is consumed as a FOOD.  When it used in products like soy lecithin or in hormones, the only problem it would pose if you were allergic to it and soy allergies are not that common.

So if you need bioidentical hormones, receiving them from soy is not an issue.

Well, now that's confusing. I thought I read somewhere on the site about vitamin E from soybeans being a lesser grade because it came from soy. Can you clear this up?

I took bioidentical progesterone for 10 months for PMS.  When I quit I had chronic fatigue syndrome.  Two years later it has not remitted.  I do not recommend bioidentical hormones.  Anabolic steroids are bioidentical hormones.  Why should progesterone be perceived differently from other anabolic steroids?

Is there a possibility that the doctor you went to miss diagnosed you from the beginning ?
Or  that you didn't take the replacement as directed ?
Did you go to a Bio Identical specialist or a doctor that claimed he could do this type of work ?
Why haven't you went to some one to balance you back out ?
Just wondering

Are Bio-IdenticalL Hormones Safe?

The WHI study showed that synthetic, chemically altered hormones such as Provera cause cancer and heart disase.  However, the bio-identical hormones do not cause increased breast cancer as shown in the French Cohort study published in Climacteric, Dec 2002.  In addition a recent coronary calcium score study published in the NEJM June 2007, showed less calcification in the premarin only treated arm of the WHI, indicating protection from heart disease.  The 2 arms of the WHI study suggest that the synthetic progestin, Provera is the culprit in the WHI study causing the increased risk of cancer and heart disease.
