Hello Dr. Mercola: We love your site and all the interesting articles. My husband and I try the best we can to adhere to your eating plan but we find it hard to find our son's metabolic type (he's 2 years & 8 mo). He doesn't like vegetable but doesn't mind meat, fish and fruits. Do you have any recommendations on how to find his metabolic type and what to expect if we do? Thank you for your time!

I would suggest taking the
metabolic typing assessment program
and participating in the free forum that comes with the assessment.

About 32 years ago my daughter was diagnosed as hyperactive and the school and Drs demanded I put her on Ritalin. I did for about 2 weeks and she turned into a zombie. I told they they weren't drugging my kid to "shut her up" and took her off of it. In researching I found a book called, The Feingold Diet for Hyperactives. When she had been "cleaned up" about two weeks the teacher aske me what I WAS giving her. I said it's not what I'm giving her, it's what I'm no longer letting her have. Artificial colors and sweeteners. He addressed a lot of things and it took me a long time to read all labels in the grocery store but she was a changed child. I'm told theygrow out of it and she did.
Was she REALLY hyperactive? I'll never know but she was healthier on the Feingold diet than on Ritalin.
You know your child better than anyone else and you are ultimately responsible for them.
A pushy mom

I've also been told that Grape seed oil has been used with good results for hyperactive children. I think you will have to look it up for dosage but it's worth looking into anyway.
