I can fill out the diet check really well.  i have no idea what needs altering when i hit bad reactions.

Could I suggest that it needs an additional column - "possible causes".  Maybe this will need to be specific to the diet plan for the individual.

Can you please tell me if the reaction on the chart is immediate or within a period of time eg 4-6 hrs.

How do you interpret getting a sequence of bad reactions after a meal?  Do you assume the first reaction has caused the second or look for 2 problems with the meal etc?

Profilia:

What may need altering is either the macronutrient ratios, the combination of foods, how you are preparing the foods (cooked vs. raw), etc.  This is where spending some quality time with a nutritionist would be so very helpful.  It is difficult to figure out (back and forth) thru this e-mail type format. I will pass on your suggestion to Glen regarding adding in another column on the 'diet check record sheet'.

You should allow 1-2 hours to pass and then make the determination as to how you are feeling and document it. Then you can look back in retrospect and see what works and what does not.

Are you sure you do not have food sensitivities?  They may be "hidden", where you are unaware of them if they have not been identified previously.  That would really make it difficult to make determinations as to whether it is the macronutrient ratios, etc., or the foods themselves.

Wishing you good health,

Judy

Thanks for the advice.  I do have food sensitivities but have never had sensitivity to any of the foods i am eating.

I think butchers put preservatives etc on the meat  (I am not in USA) and I may be reacting to that.
I tried organic chicken but I didnt react well to that nor to other forms of organic meat.I think the meat may have been organic but the way it was processed and stored was not.

it is a huge problem - food may be grown organically but can be stored in an area regularly treated with synthetic pesticides.  Organic fo0od should be labelled that the harvesting, transport pcakaging and storage are all organic.

I may have combinative allergies where i am not allergic to 2 or more foods eaten separately but if the foods are combined - I am allergic.  But that type of food allergy is too hard for me to pick.
