I purchased the Omega & absolutely love it & recommend it! My Mother In Law had Jack Lalane's juicer & after it broke down, she liked mine so much, she purchased it as a replacement to Jack's.
I am so glad I found this topic. I have a juicer (Jack Lalanne Juicer) and I want to use it more. I am a fussy eater (I dont like pasta and I dont like to eat fruits but I do like grape juice, apple juice, etc) and I dont like that many veggies. I am also hungry all the time. If I have the recommended serving of milk with the recommended serving of cereal, one slice of toast with no butter, one egg, and an 8 oz glass of apple juice, I am hungry less than an hour later.
I have tried everything when it comes to losing weight and eating healthier but nothing works. I am thinking that I am doomed to be nearly 200 pounds and 5'11" the rest of my life!
Where can I find out about what metabolic type I am without having to pay for a book? I am a stay at home mom and I dont have an income and my husband covers all our bills so we dont have the extra available.
I am about ready to give up and embrace mountain dew again!
I am hungry all the time too! When I work in the morning, I am not allowed to eat for about 5 hrs. So, even though I am not "super hungry" at 6 am, I have to eat something to hold me over. I was just reading your list of foods you eat & I think I would definitely be hungry with having that many carbs & sugar (the juice). I find if I have a couple pieces of toast (no butter) with almond butter or peanut butter & a tiny bit of honey (to make it go down easier), along with a small glass of 40% watered down juice (ie orange & water), I am able to suppress my appetite for a surprising amount of time.
Oddly enough, I dont eat many fruits or have that much juice. In fact, I dont have much sweets at all per se. When I was pregnant with my son, I didnt have any weird food aversions but I discovered that popcorn (one of my favorite snacks) disgusted me and still does and I can no longer stand the taste of margarine. My husband gets the country crock tub stuff (I like using real butter anyway) but I could really distinguish the taste and I refuse to eat anything with margarine on it! I may have a candy bar here and there but my main enemy is Mountain Dew! I mean, I have it bad! I want to get off of it so my plan right now is to just limit my intake if I have any and supplement with water. Like if I get a 20 oz at the store, I will make sure I have at least twice as much water. My goal is to gradually reduce the intake so that I can totally eliminate it.
I dont normally buy fruits because they just sit there looking pretty. I also found that if I spend the money on fruits, I dont get that much juice and I could get a gallon of orange juice for a fraction of the cost. I need to find a way for it to be more cost effective.
As for being hungry all the time, I wonder if part of my problem is that I am so used to eating more than what I should so my stomach thinks it needs more. I try to do portion control but I feel like I am starving myself!
Yeah, i think the Mountain Dew would be a really good place to start! I don't know if this advice will help, but if I was you I'd educate yourself on just how bad it is for you & how much sugar you are actually consuming, check out the calories & fat content & then find a sugarless substitute (ie. Lemon/lime water) & cut it out cold turkey. After you get past the initial withdrawals (probably for a few days) you will most likely find you have more will power. Also, don't even put a bottle/can of it in your home incase you have a weak moment! Good luck with everything!
