I saw this one bottled water that contains L-Carnitine (about 300mg per serving) and I find it very effective as a helping agent in burning fats. I use to be 207lbs and I started walking to and from work (about 20 minutes brisk walking) and started drinking this l-carnitine infused drink. I think there are also fruit juices that has L-carnitine in it.
Anyway, after 3 months of doing this and watching out my diet, I am happy to say that I reduced my weright to 194lbsm, that's 13lbs in 3 months without sacrificing my other activities in work and in my personal life.
Congratulations for a job well done! Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll get the desired weight you wish to have. And I have to agree L-Carnitine is most helpful in burning fats. But make sure to continue pushing yourself to do more (like increase speed in walking or take a longer route) just to give a variety to your daily exercise. L-Carnitine is most helpful when you maintain a good diet and exercise.

For Leoric - I think you can do it, I am also obese before (about 290lbs) and now I am 195 to 200lbs (depending on my mood swings :) )
I just started eating right and make sure incorporate exercise in everything that I do and that did the trick. No hocus-pocus, just plain exercise and the right food with the right proportion. :)
