I went to visit the doctor because I have been trying to lose weight for the past 1-year, I excercise 3 days of the week, 1 hour-1.5 hours of walking, and doing some cardio... I have 3 kids and am a single mom...I eat 1500 calories per day... Take vitamin supplements for the foods I miss eating, I have had a heart issue since I was in an accident my heart started skipping beats since my 2nd pregnancy...OK So with all this history I go to my doctor because I have only lost 12 lbs, I have a really hard metabolism, taken every supplement possible to help me lose weight...AM DESPERATE! Am 100 lbs over weight...SO I go to the doctor and they tell me: "you are fine, you're not even that badly over weight, just keep doing what you are doing, eventually you will lose the weight, oh your heart's fine, oh you might feel a little dizzy no biggie it's ok!!" SOOO I started taking the heart supplements like omega3 to help me... They have made my heart feel great...The doctor then suggested "drink green tea helps with weight loss!" I started drinking it and all of a sudden I feel dizzy. At first I was ok...BUT now I notice my heart is speeding a lot more often... I actually lost another 2 lbs in a period of 2 months since I started drinking the tea but at the cost of feeling my heart racing...I can't even go to the bathroom or walk to the bathroom without feeling my heart all funny...

AM desperate to lose weight...I am a single mom and work, and have 3 kids, 3 dogs and barely enough time for myself... I am trying my best at losing weight but I am so stressed about working out so hard and so much and watching what I eat and how I eat etc and no weight loss...Instead am feeling ill, and not happy about my health and situation at all...

And to add to it I love the green tea but not happy at how it is making my heart feel....I would appreciate some advise, please!!! Thank you!

Hashimotos Thyroid disease

Can anyone help me with alternatives in this treatment. She is 8 months pregnant and has had bad diarea for the last two weeks. Not many other symptoms other that slight sick feeling in stomach. She looks heathy and is drinking pleanty of water and taking lots and lots of probiotics. This seemed to work a little and her stool was firmer for a few days but doesn't last. We have well water and we stopped drinking it and using a berkey filter. She had a stool sample tested that came back negative and no white blood cells (in the stool I guess). We drink raw milk but she stopped that a week ago as well. We are having the water tested.

We are worried about the baby. Anyone know a good resource for pathogens and diognosing these type of situations? Or a baby/mother site that may have some advice? Since she still has the sympyoms I wonder how accurite the stool test could have been. How reliable are labs?

We live in the catskill mtns of NY.

Thank you

proven method for inducing sleep. Try it when your doctor says there is no
obvious disease. It may substitute sleeping pills. ‘Counting Breaths’ works
amazingly for all ages – 5 to 93 years. How can you do it?

Lie down in your usual position. Close your eyes. Follow these 3 easy steps.

1.In-breath: During the in-breath, sense the
naturally present faint coolness inside your nose. This coolness is always
present. We do not notice it. Focusing on this coolness is calming and relaxing.

2.Out-Breath: During the out-breath,
slowly count in your mind ‘one-one’ so on. You may count one or more times, and
the count may vary at different times. Don’t try to regulate breathing. Let it
happen in any manner.

3.Next in-breath: Enjoy the relaxing coolness inside
the nose again (don’t count during the in-breaths). Next out-breath: Count the next number ‘two-two’ so on. Repeat this pattern: Feel the coolness during
the in-breaths and count the next number during the out-breaths. Keep on doing
this.

What
will happen? At some number, your mind wanders and forgets about coolness and
counting. For some beginners this may happen even before reaching five. It’s
OK. Relax! Every time you forget counting, repeat the above steps 1 - 2 - 3.
Your tense muscles will gradually loosen inducing sleep. You will be amazed how
this works!

What if you don’t get sleep quickly?
The maximum time needed for onset of sleep is about 20 minutes. If you
don’t sleep within this time, don’t panic.

Try
the Advanced
Method: Pretend that you are not the person struggling to sleep, but a scientist
doing an experiment, on the side effects of ‘Counting Breaths’. Continue feeling
the coolness of in-breaths and counting during the out-breaths. If you happen
to count up to hundred, restart from one ,repeating the one to hundred counts.
Your mind is thus very busy with this experiment, with no time to think about
sleep. What will happen? The muscles of your body from face to toes will
gradually loosen and you, the scientist will doze off, forgetting the
experiment!

If
you wake up mid sleep, ‘Count your Breaths’ and get back to sound sleep. See
how you feel fresher than before, when you wake up! Say ‘ Bye-Bye’ to
Insomnia!’

Beyond quality sleep....
Count a few breaths during the idle or wandering moments of your mind,
throughout the day: waiting anywhere, traveling in car/ train/ air plane or
walking any place. Also during the stressful times: feeling angry, sad,
frustrated, tired….so on. In a few months, your mind will automatically focus
on the breath sensation as needed and periodically relax your mind and body. This
relaxed state will reflect in your face with a happy smile! You can see such
pictures in the web site www.countingbreaths.com
If you have any problems like Hypertension, Migraine, Smoking or Tobacco
chewing, Anger, Obesity, Insomnia, Stuttering or Difficult relationships,
you will gain significant relief. See the extensive feedback from practitioners
of all ages in the above web site.

Alternative Methods to develop Breath
Awareness for Relaxation.
You can also try these options. Use them as you like, in combination with
‘counting breaths’ or by themselves.

Children 5 years and up: Use option (C) below, when they are
lying in bed and ready to sleep.

(A) Simply feel the breath sensations:
Don't count during the out-breath. Just feel the sensations of coolness during
in-breath and the non-cool sensation during the out-breath. Focus on the
difference between these two sensations. This option is handy for taking refreshing
breath breaks even while doing some work.

(B) Tracking breaths using finger segments: In this option, we do not count at
all. We use the finger segments to keep track of every breath.

-
To begin, keep the tip of the thumb in the top segment of the little
finger of any hand. Watch one breath flow in and out. Then move the thumb tip
to the middle segment of the same finger. Watch the second breath flow in and out.
Next, move the thumb tip to the bottom segment of the little finger and watch
the third breath.

-
Then move the thumb tip to the adjacent finger and track the next 3
breaths at its 3 segments. Move to the adjacent fingers and repeat the
steps, till you complete the index finger. When it is the turn of the thumb,
place the tip of the index finger on the 3 segments of the thumb, one at a
time. Note that you do not count the breaths in this mode.

-
Now, switch to the other hand and repeat the process. After completing the
second hand, switch back to the first hand. Continue in this fashion, switching
hands.

-
Try this option specially when you wake up, still lying under the cover
and your body is not willing to get off the bed. Your hands, fingers,
legs,
toes and shoulders may be stiff or numb. By the time you complete 6-8
hands on
the above pattern, you will feel the gradual loosening of the stiff
muscles all
over the body. Continue doing this, changing your body posture a few
times during his practice. Continue, till all the parts of your
body feel soft, flexible
and pain free when moved. Then, get out of the bed. You will then feel
as
if you got a fresh body, so different from what you had when you woke
up. What
a wonderful condition of body and mind to begin the day!

(C) Using finger tips: Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip
of the little finger. Breathe in, breathe out, three times, counting in the
mind, during the out breaths. During the first out-breath, count ‘one’, second
out-breath ‘two’, third out-breath ‘three’. Repeat the 3 breaths, at each of
the next 3 finger tips. When you get to the thumb, place the tip of the index
finger at the base of the thumb and complete 3 breaths. Then switch to the
other hand and repeat the process. Continue to practice, switching hands.

(D) Silently saying soothing words: We do not count in this option, but use some
soothing words during in and out breaths. For example: during the in-breath
sensed by the coolness, say silently "Breathing in, I calm
myself". During the out-breath, say silently "Breathing out, I
smile". Continue this process. Your muscles will gradually soften and go
limp! Do some research and pick such
soothing words or phrases that appeal to your heart.

Try the counting
method and the above options for some days. Use one or more of them, before
sleep, on waking up and all other times of the day without spending your useful
time.

Prior to the ORS I had polycystic ovaries from age 14, and cervical cancer in 1999. I had a radical hysterectomy which led me to the ORS. After 8 surgeries I started seeing a GYNO that started giving me the Lupron Depot shot. Which worked aside from the menopause side effects, which I was told would go away. I have had 5 doses of the lupron depot shot. the last was in November of 2008. In December of 2008 I woke up with bell's palsy. I didnt think anything of it at the time, the doctors couldnt give me a reason for this happening. Approximatly 2 months ago I started feeling the pain of the ORS again, but this time with more. My breasts are very tender, I went to the gyno for this and she sent me for a mamogram and ultrasound of the breasts which found a cyst on the right breast. Since then my breasts have gotten worse, more sore, swollen etc. They were getting bigger, a cup size difference in a week. I have been having headaches on a daily basis. And now I have EXTREME FATIQUE, I take energy pills and still fall asleep. I called the gyno about this and she sent me in for blood tests on the hormone levels. I have not gotten the results as to yet on the blood work, I have an appointment tomarrow for that. But I started looking into the lupron shot and the pituitary gland, specifically if they have anything to do with one another. I am surprised at what I have found. I am at a loss and do not really know where to go from here, I am getting desperate to feel normal again. Mind you normal to me is living with the pain of the ORS, but that would be a far stretch from what I am feeling now. I am at a total loss with all of this and would appreciate any input or info.

What do you do with sore breasts cysts?

I had a mammogram back in September and they said I had two cysts. I have tried asking my doctor for more information all he tells me is that it's a disease or illness passed down from my mother and that it can't be controlled unless I take bcp...WELL I tried that and since I have heart issues you can imagine how my body was reacting to it...BUT during that time I also had lost some of the 14lbs I have lost in the 1 year period...

The doctor told me that's the reason I am not losing weight but everyone else including my general practitioner has told me it has nothing to do with it...The more I read on PCOS the worst I feel because again I am ignorant to health issues and seriously don't know what to do...My friend the one who's down 2 sizes started taking this medicine called Glucophash? Something like that and that's been helping her lose the weight...Last year she went down from 18 women's to 14 but as soon as she was down to that size they took her off the glucophlash??? And she gained all the weight back...Now on her own she's trying to lose the weight and has gone down 2 sizes...BUT she did let me know that she was back on the glucophah?? Sorry seriously don't know med names... SO I was wondering if there is anyone that might know a little more about these things?! I do appreciate the help! Sorry I am all the drama and health problems trying to be healthy and unsure of what in the world to do any more...Especially with weightloss and control...thanks again for your help!

just found out bf has a rare disease???

GOOD Day to everyone! He's around my age and he was never diagnosed before??!! I have tried to ask his doctors to recheck and reevaluate but no response...Not only that but when we tried to bring it up with his parents they were like they're crazy! I've been reading a book about it, but I am not sure if the test would be okay for a protein type like myself. The recommendation, according to the book, is to not have any animal meat, fats, nuts or seeds for one week while in the preperation stage before the elimination. Is that acceptable for a protein type? They advise fruit, veg, and lots of rice ...ekkks!!

Also, it says to discontinue use of any herbs, vitamins, etc. for the preperation week unless they are absolutely necessary. I was tested recently and discovered that I have adrenal fatigue and am taking hebal supplements. Overall, do you think this cleanse would be beneficial to me?

Thanks,

I don't know if this is the right forum or not but I would like to ask about the usage of common sanitary napkins (the one you buy from the local grocery store). Anyway, when i travelled to Singapore earlier this year I saw this one napkin that uses several layers that form the napkin. It also has a negative ion strip inside to remove the odor, as they claim it. I was skeptical at the beginning, but i tried it and i never felt so comfortable in my life. What bothers me is that they explained to me that the regular napkins being manufactured by these companies uses recycled paper to make it. The napkins undergo a harsh chemical process to bleach it and make it refined to absorb our discharge. Anyway, if there is anyone here who has more information on the matter it would be highly appreciated.

Anyway, i bought a whole year supply of these Singapore Napkins (brand I will not say here :) ) because it really is comfortable and the smell is really absorbed by this negative ion strip.
