We have been getting raw milk from a local Mennonite farmer and he has had no allergy reactions and has been more regular on it. We have been advised by a nutritionist/homeopathic healer that he should absolutely not be drinking raw milk. She says that in general we cannot digest the large proteins in cows milk (nobody can, she said). We have also read that it is not good to give children with autism casein. We would like to keep using raw milk for our son (and ourselves). Do you think it is okay?

I am a big fan of Krill Oil

Hi all

I am new to the Mercola community but have been a loyal reader for years. I have a wonderful Krill oil story.

I have Cystic Fibrosis and because of this illness, I needed a double lung transplant. I am now breathing with healthy lungs and grateful to my organ donor and his family.

I believe that one reason why I stay healthy is because of my healthy diet. Before I started supplementing with Krill Oil, I had an increase in my Pulmonary Function test scores by ten percent using Fish oil and Cod liver oil (one teaspoon daily). Several months later, I added Krill Oil (two pills daily). After a few weeks my PFT score increased another twenty percent. When I went off the krill Oil, my numbers fell twenty percent on the nose. Went back on Krill and they increased back to twenty percent.

I am going to stay on all my oils and see if my numbers will increase over time. I am at 100 percent lung function in one area. I have never known of any drug to increase lung function scores.

I have convinced several medical people to look into Krill. Just had to share.

Transplant patients need to be careful when taking immune boosting supplements. Since I know how to muscle test (aka energy test) I test very strong to Krill. there are many supplments that I test weak too. Thankfully, Krill works wonders for me.

Just wanted to spread the news!

I have shared all of this information on my Transplant Social Networking site at transplantbuddies.org

Best regards,

I work in the Health industry as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition / Lifestyle consultant and recently watched your video on the Pure & Clear water filtration system.

I am looking for filters to recommend to clients and also purchase for myself at home and have also had many people recommend to me the "Wellness" water filter - I could not find any articles on Mercola.com about this system and was wondering if you could comment about you opinion of this system?

I understand the Pure & Clear is much more cost effective but was wondering if you believe the Wellness system to be superior if the element of cost was taken out of the equation?

One needs to understand metabolism and the need for protein amino acids, that are essential to life, a lack of amino's will see the body swing one way or the other....

Drinking Vinegar beverages is a ideal neutraliser of acids and alkaline...The stomach acid being approximately pH 2 and drinking vinegars being around pH 3.5, when you consume vinegar, the stomache acid will rise above pH2 , so vinegar does have an alkaline effect on stomache acid, if one is alkaline above pH 7.5 then drinking vinegar will reduce it...

The 8 essential acids are the most important to reduce pH and sugar in the blood, so always drink vinegars just after a meal for best results.

Having had a Potts fracture (right ankle) 30 years ago, I have maintained most of my life a fairly vigorous daily exercise regime of running and aerobics. Now, at age 65 I have developed the classic symptoms of arthritis in the ankle, i.e. stiffness, soreness and limping after exercise (no swelling). I had understood an alkaline balance would favor my condition; would the eating plan help rather more? I have found that juice "fasting" did give an enormous temporary stamina boost and some relief. For that I used the Paavo Airola suggestions based on carrots and celery, the latter being excluded from your plan. I look forward to your suggestions. My acupuncturist worked with me for a long time--actually several years...still acidic. Now I am alkaline, my skin has transformed, weight has dropped, and my uterine cancer---also result from acid in the body---shrunk to nothing and was removed easily. I didn't realize that my stress was making me acidic, my bottled water was adding acidity to my system--and flattening my wallet, my love for Gatoraid was putting acid to the tune of 50.000 times more acidic that neutral water, and my RO Reverse Osmosis water was also acid. Amazing at my ignorance. Now I am seeing that my health has restored, my skin has come back to supple and youthful and I realize that most of the illness is due to the body being acid based, unbeknownst to us. Food even raw, works but rarely has enough water to make the system remain alkaline. Dr. Otto Warburg proved in the 20s or 30s that ALL HBP, MS, Immune issues, Diabetes, and so much more, as well as most cancer was due to acidity, and it can be reversed like most acid based maladies. There is SUCH a connection and I use whole life water now, for this is what turned it around for me. For more information see.. UltimateHealthWater and see what we all need to know, for the connection IS real.

Acidity

I'm a protein type and am concerned about becoming very acidic, which I tend to do, on the protein type diet. What do you suggest?

Alkalosis

I have used PH strips several times now and each one indicates a ph level of 9.0 or 9.5. Is such a PH level acceptable?
Hello,

My 62 yr old husband for years has had high LDL & total cholesterol, low HDL, & elevated triglycerides. High risk category. No symptoms.

He has never been on any meds for this, only dietary measures that have worked very quickly when he fully implements them!

We've discovered he is a protein type, so can he have the protein diet as suggested (i.e. some cheese, some butter)? Or should be stay off any saturated fat, and just have lean meat and have no fat dairy until he is in the normal range again? (Is there any cheese that is OK? I've only found full fat). He was on a high carb diet previously, with a reasonable amount of protein.

I dont know if u recieved the last post... Since eating alkaline ive suffered hairloss. This has continued til now... I was wondering if the low carbs caused it cause it seems to be a common thing. Im asian and all my friends have good thick hair even when eating all the noodles and rice... i seem to be putting all this effort and this area has not rectified. Maybe im barking up the wrong tree, cause i see mercola suffered from the same program. Could this diet be the cause of it?

Do u have thick hair?

accutane

Hi Glen,
I dont know if you got my last msg about accutane? I have since done some searches on google groups and alot of people say that after taking accutane, people suffer from hypervitaminosis A and become very sensitive to vit A in all forms... this seems true because I have stopped my multivitmain and noticed an improvement... also when i ate liver I didnt feel very good.

How would you or Mercola deal with patients with long term effects of accutane side effects? How does one clear their systems of this drug and heal the ravages that it leaves?

Kevin
acid or alkaline water for mixed type?

I have several questions, I haven't got my test results yet, but from the tips I've recieved, I'm sure I'm a mixed type. I would like to know, how does a mixed type become alkaline? Is iononized water better, which is alkaline, or reverse osmosis, which is acid? As a mixed type, which foods are alkalizing, the protiens or the carbs? I have candida, and my digestion is not that good. If I combine a high and low purine such as steak and egg in one meal, I get mucus in my nose and throat. Would it be better to eat every other meal as a carb and every other meal as a protien type, or should I mix both at one meal? Also, is raw cultured dairy OK for someone who has candida? I am underwieght, is it OK to eat some starches and grains to keep mt wieght up? I lose wieght very quickly when I totally eliminate grains, and I cannot afford to lose any more. I have been gluten free for almost 2 years. I would appreciate any advice on how to overcome candida. I've been following some version of the candida diet for almost 2 years. But there are so many opinions on what to eat or not. Some say fruit is OK, some say no fruit, only quinoa and buckwheat. Have you had success with treating candida? Please, I need something that works.

Green Food for Protein Type

I take the following supplements usually in a raw milk smoothie or in
supplement form. I know they are not in the list of foods for Protein Types but
I wanted to verify with you before I gave them up (just starting diet)

1. Barley Grass

2. Spirulina

3. Chorella

4. Kelp

As you can tell I like Chlorophyll and have noticed some great changes when
I take them.
