Dear Mercola,

I work in the Health industry as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition / Lifestyle consultant and recently watched your video on the Pure & Clear water filtration system.

I am looking for filters to recommend to clients and also purchase for myself at home and have also had many people recommend to me the "Wellness" water filter - I could not find any articles on Mercola.com about this system and was wondering if you could comment about you opinion of this system?

I understand the Pure & Clear is much more cost effective but was wondering if you believe the Wellness system to be superior if the element of cost was taken out of the equation?

Many thanks in advance,

Benjamin, Australia.

Many thanks for your reply,

1.  Does mecola manufacture the water filter with these specifications?  I can't find the pure and clear filter available anywhere else online.

2.  Does the pure and clear water filter remove 100% of the flouride within the tap water and does the shower filter also remove flouride?

3.  Does Dr.Mercola really use this system at home for his own personal use??? (haha, don't have to answer this if it's private but would be interesting to know.)

Thanks again in advance,

Ben.

Dear Mercola,

I travel a lot for work and I would love it if you could work on finding / developing a "Pure and Clear" travel water filter that attaches to a safe (travel size -12-18 oz) metal bottle.  In the meantime, can you reccomend another brand???  I have been doing many things, quite successfully and happily, to imporve my health, but on the road, I am currently "stuck" drinking a lot of bottled water, which I've been doing for years.  I shudder to think of all the plastic toxins that are in my body.  I would buy the above product I described from your website, or based on your advice, in a HEARTBEAT if it exists!!!!

Thanks,

Becky

beckfly . . . Until you find the ideal filter, you might consider the "Better Water" so-called eco-friendly "Corn Bottle" that has a charcoal filter that "...instantly filters water as you drink...again and again up to 90 refills!"  We used them successfully on our vacation.  Claims only to remove chlorine from tap water.  These new 'corn-based' plastics are not truly biodegradable, so need to be disposed of properly when the time comes --- but at least they're not a toxic plastic and can be reused.

I ordered ours online    Details about corn bottles:  www.containercorp.com

Can order at www.newwaveenviro.com

You will find some helpful information at Aquasana.  Review the "ABOUT US" section.

And, if you're looking into water ionizers, Kangen vs. other ionizers this link will help you understand the differences between Kangen and other water ionizers.  From my understanding, Kangen (Enagic brand)  is overpriced because they are sold within a MLM program and they pay 8 levels down.

You will find a bottle with attached filter here: Aquasana just go to "Products", "Water bottles and Totes" and at the bottom of the page.  The bottle is made of food grade plastic (I don't care for plastic myself). However, to my understanding, the water contained in the bottle passes the filter upon using the straw to drink and the filter removes contaminants.  This size filter reduces about 90% of chlorine and lead and about 70-90% of other contaminants.  Obviously, the absolute best filtration will come from a system with larger filters and then you would have to store and pack it for travel.

Benjamin,

The Wellness brand offers a variety of filters including shower and kitchen systems which remove many contaminants like bacteria and heavy metals.  However, they do not claim to remove fluoride like Mercola's Pure & Clear filter, and they are quite expensive, almost 3 times the price.  If you're looking for something similar to the Wellness product, but for a lot less, we have purchased water filters that remove bacteria, fluoride, chloramines, VOCs, THMs, pesticides and heavy metals, etc., all in one system.

Jellina,

I personally purchased a water ionizer from a company with high ratings as well.  Click here to go to their website.

Kangen vs. other ionizers this link will help you understand the differences between Kangen and other water ionizers.  From my understanding, Kangen (Enagic brand)  is overpriced because they are sold within a MLM program and they pay 8 levels down.

And, if you're looking for general water filtration systems, click here for the #1 rated water filtration system in America.  Their shower filters guarantee softer skin in one week.
