My husband and I have been living in Costa Rica for two years. We have found it increasingly difficult to eat food in the United States, especially beef, chicken and pork. The reason: Costa Rican cattle are only grass fed, never given growth hormones, and only given antibiotics WHEN the cow is actually sick - not as a pre-emptive measure against illness. The result: The meat is fantastic!!! The beef especially if amazing. It is tender, and tasty (it actually has a taste), not like the cardboard tasting beef in the U.S (unless it has been spiced to the point of being almost inedible, or aged forever). I'm talking real taste, and even more surprising - virtually no fat. BUT, the main reason we like it so much: I no longer get sick eating meat. No colds, flu's, constipation, bloating, heartburn, feeling run down etc. I had become a strict vegetarian in the U.S. for over 12 years, because eating the beef, pork, and chicken in the U.S. was making me sick. Chickens are not supersized in Costa Rica, but the taste - amazing. Same with the pork. It is juicy, and flavorful almost beyond belief. I don't think I've ever seen a time where I could fry an entire package of bacon and have just about 1 tablespoon of fat afterwards, same with the pork sausage - whoever heard of this?!?! We will be coming back to the U.S. for a few months this year, and I'm looking to find meat similar to what we get in Costa Rica. I'm hoping that your beef is the answer. I welcome any comments and suggestions. Kathi
