I am so excited that I have finally found a place to get raw milk! I've heard there are some wonderful recipes using raw milk to help replace coffee in my busy (really really busy -- two kids, job to get to, out the door by 6:30, ugh!) mornings. Any suggestions how to best utilize this awesome resource of raw milk that I now have access to?
Thanks so much for your help!
Jaime
You could make keifer out of the raw milk. That would give you a natural, live probatic to take each day.
You could also take a few oz add a strawberry or other fruit and some stevia and get you kids to drink it. They would think it was a smoothie.
You can find the keifer grains on the internet, just search for the best price, etc. The added benefit of this is to cut down on the frequency of colds, etc. that most kids have by being in contact with other kids.
I make a quart at a time, using about 1/2 cup of keifer grains. In 24 hours you have keifer, strain thru a plastic strainer, reuse the grains for your next batch and drink the keifer, 6 to 8 oz. If you want it more sour let it run longer, just make sure to stir often with a wood or plastic container. Set it on top of your fridge, with a cloth or paper cover.
Good Health

Hi Don,
Thanks so much for your posts! As I am in the beginning stages of changing my nutritional habits, I think I'll try making keifer first. Just wondering: how satisfying is it? It is enough to have for breakfast? It sounds perfect for a busy schedule and has the added benefit of being kid-friendly.
Thanks again,
