I am curious about natural treatments for having a low thyroid. I have a low body temperature (around 97 degrees) and am a Mixed Type or a Protein Type (i took the test twice and came up with different types since I wasn't sure about many of the questions I answered.)
Is there something recommended that could help my thyroid function?
A little advise:
Make sure you get enough iodine in your system to help counter act the negative effects of the Bromine, Chlorine and Florine in your daily life.
A good source of help is a thyroid blog by Mary Shomon, she sends out a newletter on thyroid problems.

Have you had your thyroid hormones officially tested? What about your adrenal hormones? Adrenal fatigue frequently causes/contributes to low thyroid.
Optimal diet, enough sleep, easing your way into an exercise program, iodine and coconut oil have all been proven to improve thyroid function. I believe it's important to find out why the gland isn't working the way God intended and then help it regain health by lifestyle changes.
Another thing to be aware of, hypothroidism is OFTEN causes by an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. If this is the case for you, reducing the anti-thyroid antibodies (by adequate selenium intake) is necessary before you body can heal.
