My wife and I are fast oxidative, protein types. We take a probiotic supplement (Primal Defense) at breakfast formulated from a 100% vegetarian source. Will this vegetarian based supplement aid in the digestion of animal/fish protein?

Any quality pro-biotic should aid in your digestion.  If you are not responding well to any particular brand that you are currently using it would be a good idea to try another.  We should always remember that we are individuals and what may work for one may not work for another.  Here at the clinic we use Lacto-S-Plus, Floristor, and Florasource.

If you wanted to address specifically breaking down protiens you may want to look into a HCL supplement.

Good Health,

Glen ND

Floristor can cause fungemia... how does one know this has happened? I havent taking it for a while until yesterday and my tongue was pretty coated after a nights rest.

Should i take an antifungal to correct this?

Kevin,

Fungemia?  I've never heard of it so I can not comment and obviously I have never heard of Floristor causing this.  Sometimes I think you search the internet to the point of finding challenges to attach to yourself.  Try to keep things simple and basic as sometimes too much information leads to challenges of stress and anxiety which can make your symptoms worse and be a blocking factor for you.  I have mentioned before that you pay too much attention to your tongue overall and I would recommend that you work with a qualified natural health practitioner in your area to understand your challenges deeper.  Too bad you are so far away.

Hey Kevin, I notice that my tongue is a bit coated after a night's sleep, even when I'm healthy. And then after I eat a good protein type meal, it clears up pretty good. I think it might be normal to have a slightly coated tongue after you wake up.

Glen,

Would you please tell me when is the best time to take the Probiotics Plus.  I have been taking in the AM on an empty stomach..then before dinner.

Does it matter if we take it right before food..or 30 mins. before. I know some probiotics are suggested to take only on empty..am and before bed.

Please clarify..Thanks!

Sharon

Glen,

I just had a thought!  I am wondering if the probiotics are contributing to the wormlike, soft, yellowish and frequent bowel movements I am having for the last 3 days.

I'm experimenting with less fat, but maybe I should cut out the probiotics and see if that's the issue. Perhaps a detox effect?

Wracking my brains in Phoenix...Sharon
