Sometimes raw meats will feel much better to me than cooked meats. When just simply tasting the cooked meat, my body will say "Don't eat this." And then when I try the raw meat, it says "Eat this."
This is usually after a long period of eating lots of cooked meat.
Is this because my body is depleted of the enzymes necessary to digest cooked meat? Is this what I'm experiencing? Any insights would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jesse
Hi Jesse,
What I can share with you is that the first response that our body has to any food is a neurological response based on the nerve receptors on our tongue. Any food that is enzyme rich and loaded with nutrition as in quality raw meats will generally create a very positive original neurological response. Generally for those of us that do not feel this would be then facing the emotional block that is a response created by our perception of what is right or wrong. Most in our culture feel that raw meat is improper so they will not feel the response that you do as well as others. Be thankful that you are open to paying attention to and listening to your body.
The physical benefits would include higher amounts of vitamins, minerals, enzymes that are all much easier to absorb and assimilate.

glen this just isnt our culture, every culture does eat raw foods but a majority of there diet is cooked foods.. i think the whole raw food stuff is a bunch of ...
every hunter gather tribes eats copious amounts of cooked meats and still has outstanding health...
Hello,
I do agree that we can be very healthy while consuming cooked foods but myself, Dr. Mercola and our team have seen some amazing results with raw. Most indigenous cultures had sacred foods that were typically raw and fermented proteins even if they cooked other foods. I do understand that this is not for everyone and I respect your opinion...
ok thank you glen, dont get me wrong i think raw foods are very important...
but do you think digestive enyzmes should always be used with cooked foods, long term?
Yes I do feel that digestive enzymes to replace the naturally occuring enzymes is a good idea since it saves the use of your metabolic enzyme actiivty and this is an overall health benefit.
what company do you recommend for the enzymes?
and digestive enzy. and probiotics are good to use long term?
Hi freeseb,
unless you eat optimally all the time I would suggest a daily intake of a good probiotic.
I have no thoughts on the digestive enzymes other than my reading seems to indicate that the early exhaustion of your supply will contribute to health deficits, and early aging. This is the impression I have and may be incorrect.
It does seem odd that something produced within our bodies could be finite.
Your choice of probiotic should probably have something to do with your ancestral traditional foods - eg if dairy was commonly eaten then a dairy- based probiotic could be your best choice, but if dairy was not then a non-dairy based probiotic would be a safer choice.
I have had much sucess treating serious illness, epsecially Lyme disease, using raw meat, raw eggs, raw fish etc. Everyone who is willing to try this in a careful safe manner has noted large benefit very rapidly. Of course, this is not something everyone is comfortable doing, but it is amazing to watch people with severe symptoms who have tried everything have their symptoms vanish in 2 weeks just from a diet change.
Of course you do have to be very careful. Eating raw meat can be very dangerous.
I personally find that when I eat raw, I get tons of energy, any aches and pains go away, my cholesterol and other numbers improve, and I lose weight.
Sincerly

PS. I have found that using digestive enzymes does give some of the benefits that the raw food does, but not all. Sometimes taking specific enzymes, such as amylase or lipase, is more beneficial than just taking a broad spectrum digestive enzyme. However, I will insist that the raw food does work better than any pill, but many are not comfortable eating raw. Below is some information on LIpase and Amylase
Lipase is an enzyme which may be taken on an empty stomach to relieve inflammation of the nervous system or with meals to aid in fat digestion. May be helpful for depression and Lyme related brain fog when taken on an empty stomach. http://essentialnaturals.com/gac/product.php?cpid=101
Amylase is believed to digest or break down histamines. Because of this action, it has been found to be useful for symptomatic relief from allergies and mild allergic reactions. In addition, Amylase has benefits for those that have gas, bloating or bowel yeast overgrowth due to poor starch digestion as it is the primary enzyme for digesting starch and sugar. http://essentialnaturals.com/gac/product.php?cpid=66
