Is Manuka honey a good probiotic? I was thinking of giving 1/2 teaspoon or so to my son (he's 11) to help with his allergies which are mild. He also takes the Primal Defense probiotic for kids.
Thanks!
If it's meant to be, it's up to me.
Hello,
While honey has many benefits one of them is not a probiotic. Raw honey is a very high enzyme food and can aid digestion from that standpoint but it has to be raw. Remember that honey that is pasteurized is void of enzymes.
Even though honey has many positive health qualities it is still sugar so I would only recommend this if you sons sugar consumption is low.
