I've seen a lot of informative posts on how to make your own raw butters and yogurts/kefir, etc.  But I was also just wondering how to make raw sour cream?  I'm very new to this raw milk thing...and milk in general really as I've been vegan for quite a long time only to discover I'm a protein type and most likely anemic (yikes!)

Hello,

Sour cream is actually cream that has been allowed to sour.

I recognize that this is a significant shift in nutrition for you but I can share that many times I have seen people become vegans only to create functional imbalance due to this.

Keep me posted with any challenges if they arise.

Although it's not officially sour cream, yogurt cream made from organic pastured raw cream is a great substitute.  I use the raw milk yogurt recipe in the Nourishing Traditions cookbook subtituting cream in place of milk in the ingredients.  It's thick, yummy, and goes well in every use I've tried.
