Im 17 and I just started my protein type journey lol.. I had two Organic boneless chicken breasts for lunch cooked in coconut oil and a small salad with carrots and a little bit of olive oil.. Is that an Ideal Lunch? For Dinner Im planning on having an organic grass fed beef pattie with a salad and sprouted beans and some tomatoes... Do these sound like good meals for a protein type.. Any suggestions would help..
From what I've gathered, white meat (***, wings, etc) does not contain enough purines for a protein type and is not recommended as the main protein portion of a meal. Dark meat (leg, thigh, neck) is best, as it is higher in purines. For salad, raw spinach would be recommended, with heavy emphasis on additional fats, ie olive oil, nuts, etc. You would then determine your lunch by how you feel several hours after eating. If you can't even make it two hours without having to snack, you need to adjust your macronutrient ratios... and you'd most likely either have to decrease carb intake or add more fat. Also consider the purine content of the protein source you ate, and be sure to eat the protein portion first.
haha... apparently you can't use the singular form of "breasts" without being censored. Lame!

Is this the program you were given to follow? I don't know your particulars, But I'll bet it's way better than the diet you were on before you began! Did you have some blood work done when you began to have an idea of where you were and wanted to go? That's the best weay to know. Then have another check in 6 months.
