Oops......submitted last post without any discussion :)
I just took the NT test for the first time, after waiting weeks for this, and I, like many others according to the feedback I've read, was disappointed in the lack of depth in the questions. It honestly didn't seem very detailed or long enough to truly tag someone's nutritional type.
Some of the questions just seemed obsurd, like how do you feel after drinking fruit juice on an empty stomach? Honestly, I thought most of us should not drink fruit juice because of the sugar content. I can truly say I haven't done that in probably 20+ years so how can I answer that other than by guessing?
Most of the answers did not seem broad enough to where I was comfortable with my answers. How can this possibly be accurate?
For example, I have been having a whole food shake with whey protein and raw egg for breakfast for weeks now and none of the choices even came close to that. None of the lunch choices came close to what I usually eat either ( I usually skip an actual lunch and prefer to snack all afternoon).
It was very unclear if we were to pick what we would prefer to eat from the choices or if we were to pick the one that closely matches what we do actually eat (in which case the choices were very limited). Believe it or not, there is a big difference between preferences and reality for most of us...due to time constraints, spouses, choices, etc.
I was a bit surprised that I was a protein type but I admit I don't know anything about how the questions are interpreted. I am not thrilled with the lack of variety of vegetables on the protein food list and I adore vegetables.
I don't want this to be the huge waste of money that it seems right now so I would really appreciate some feedback here. What am I missing in the information I received from this?
Thanks in advance for any feedback I receive.
I too share some disappointment at the lack of clarity with the entire process. I was able to access the test on-line so did not have the waiting issue but it was not user friendly. I am actually pretty good with computer programs and was surprised when I had to get support 3 or 4 times before I could actually get up and running. My test results are still not showing on the forum page though.
I believe I actually understood the questions but would like more insight in how the end results were reached as well. I for one do not drink fruit juice because I have the blood sugar reaction that they spoke about not only because it is not recommended. Based on that and other questions, I assumed it was more based on how it works with us as opposed to what we currently do....sorry, I'm rambling.
I agree... just took the test on a whim to see how it would corroborate with information I've been reading regarding advantages of a vegan diet. I was surprised at how hard it was to get the test to work, how short the test was, and how unclear some of the questions were. What if I don't know the answers because I don't eat that way, and what if none of the options presented really fit me? I have high doubts as to the accuracy of the test. I guess of course the recommendation would be to follow the plan, apparently I'm a protein person - but I've been vegan for a month now so adding back protein doesn't sound appealing.
Where is the scientific evidence for this kind of testing? I think maybe I should look into an IgG test for food reactions to see more clearly what would benefit me. Have others had success with this? I just can't believe that eating a lot more protein and fat will accomplish what I want, which is lowered blood pressure and cholesterol, and better health!
I took the NT test yesterday and came on the website today looking for more encouragement. I feel the same way that you did with the choices of the questions. I don't see how they can individulize these tests by those questions. Hope this was worth it.
