Glen, I think I shared with you earlier that I take effexor for depression. Although at some point, I would like to get off it, I know that now is probably too early. Anyway, today I came across a website called "Rebuild from Depression", by Amanda Rose. I was wondering if you were familiar with her work. She talks a lot about what foods can help fight depression. Among other things, she says that cod liver oil and vitamin B-12 are important to take everyday. Is this something you would suggest for me as a protein type? Are there other foods/oils/supplements I should use, specifically for depression?

I am not familiar with the work of Amamda Rose but she is correct that nutrition plays a significant role. Omega 3s would be a good addition but the B12 would not be recommended for a protein type. A couple of good books are Nutrition and Your Mind by George Watson and Bio-balance by Rudolf Wiley. These both have a strong focus on emotional/ phycological disorders.
