Hey Glen, I just went to try to order the Probiotics Plus, but it looks like they're all sold out! I was wondering what you would recommend as a good alternative until they come back into stock.

Hi Jesse,

Others that we use at the clinic are Flora Store or Flora Source...there is one other that I recommend often called Lacto-s-plus but you can only get it through a practitioner.

If you were a patient at the clinic you could call the office for them to ship you the Lacto-s-plus.  This is the probiotic that I personally use.

Hey Glen, I was wondering why the Lacto-s-plus is your probiotic of choice instead of Probiotics Plus or any of the others.

Hello Jesse,

I have used the Lacto-s-plus for years with great results but I did use the probiotics plus for a couple of months prior to Dr. Mercola releasing this and I also did well on that particular blend.  I of course went back to what I knew worked in my body the best over the long run though.  Hopefully that helps.

Ah I see. I'll have to call the OWC to get some Lacto-s-plus and see how it reacts in my body. There sure is a lot of experimentation with this achieving optimal health thing...but maybe that's why I like it :).

Hi Glen, Have you heard of VSL #3 probiotic? Ive started using it. It seems effective for ulcerative colitis in clinical trials. Have you seen any results on it in patients?

Greetings once again, Glen,

I have a question about the timing of taking probiotics. I always heard to take on an empty stomach (1st thing in a.m. then one before bed), but then I was told you can take them before meals. Right now I take Probiotics Plus and I was taking FloraCol (basically I look for anything with lactobacillis sporogenes).

What is the scoop on when to ingest probiotics?

Sharon

Hi Sharon,

You may take your probiotic with or without meals. I have found that most probiotics work just as well when taken with food and do not lose their potency.

If you are taking digestive enzymes before your meals then it would be advisable to take your probiotic with food.

All the best in Health and Healing,

Thanks Tracie

Hello Tracie,

I would recommend the Complete Probiotics as this is the same formula as the Lacto that I used to recommend.

Try Puritan's Pride - they make super probiotic products and they are very inexpensive!

Twin Lab Super Enzyme works better for me as far as gas goes.
