In September 2006, I delivered a healthy baby girl weighing in at 9lbs and 10ozs through a c-section. When she was 2 ½ months old, I began to notice signs of depression and anxiety. My OB/GYN told me I was experiencing postpartum depression/anxiety. I had no idea what would take place next and how long this would last. Two years passed and I continued to research this debilitating issue in my life. I was going to doctor after doctor for help.
My daughter just turned 3 and I still have issues with anxiety more so than the depression. I have starting using Compounded Bio-Identical Progesterone I feel better and depression has lifted. I tend to have lingering anxiety issues. I have started exercising again too. I take multivitamins with stress B complex and 5htp.
Please give me some advice to help with this issues. I'm 37 years old.
Thanks
Shawnda
I experienced post-partum after having my little girl 14 months ago. From personal experience, drugs didn't work at all, and i got tired of trying new ones all the time. I saw a psychiatrist wkly for six months and went to Cognitive behavioural Therapy as well as an anxiety specialist. The therapy helped most. Also, once the little one went off to bed, I did meditation through Eli bay. Exercising also helped immensely. 8 months PPD free1 my psychiatrist did worn me, that the anxiety might always linger, thus the reason for seeing a specialist. I had homework wkly. Gradually I learned techniques to cope. Try the therapy. It was the most helpful.
Thanks rachellarivee... my husband thinks I should be better by now.. it is so hard.. wish the anxiety would just go away...
