I am a naturopathic physician and have been trying to find objective trustworthy information from both sides to come to some kind of reasonable understanding of the whole vaccine debate. I have been generally hesitant to recommend vaccines and I have always assumed that the thimerisol/mercury in some vaccines is neurotoxic, but I have never seen any studies about it.
I decided recently that it is time to actually look at the evidence on both sides rather than just believing what a bunch of people say. Dr Mercola wrote that "there is plenty of evidence" about the toxicity of mercury and so I thought I would check out his reference. NeuroToxicology Volume 30, Issue 5, September 2009, Pages 811-821 Twenty-Fifth International Neurotoxicology Conference: "Environmental Etiologies of Neurological Disorders: Scientific, Translational and Policy Implications".
I could not access the actual article online, so I took an afternoon to go to the OHSU medical school library and found the article myself. I could not find any mention of the " Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE primates injected with just ONE vaccine containing thimerosal suffered significant neurological impairment when compared with those who received a saline solution injection, or no injection at all."
Are you posting false references to further your cause??? I thought that I could trust some of what I found on this site, but now I am questioning that. Can you help by clarifying this specific reference and providing some others that justify the "plenty of evidence" regarding mercury toxicity of vaccines? I hope this was just a mistake. I feel really frustrated if even the people who I thought were on "my side" of the issue are lying.
