I recently learned I am anemic and have a uterine fibroid the size of a tennis ball. I am on 100 mg iron/day for the anemia and my doctor wants to do a hysteroscopy for biopsy purposes along with a D & C for the fibroid. I was told he would not be able to remove the fibroid during the hysteroscopy. If I want to get rid of the fibroid, my option is hysterectomy. There must be other options. I would also like to get a second opinion from a doctor in a larger hospital that may have more high-tech equipment etc. Any suggestions?
