A few years ago a serious mistake was made when I had surgery: they "accidentally" cut my Vagas nerve which (among other functions) controls stomach motility. As a result, my food does not move properly through my stomach; for the most part it's okay when I'm upright, but when I'm lying down I have severe nausea, thus cannot sleep more than a little bit at a time. It's progressed to a point now that I am nauseous most of the time, whether upright or supine. I've tried all medications, recommendations, and procedures prescribed by various gastroenterologists, all to no avail. Natural products such as peppermint oil and ginger do not help. I'm getting desperate, being nauseous all the time and vomiting often. It's been suggested I try a new procedure similar to a heart pacemaker, but for the stomach, instead. Most specialists tell me that implanted device has not worked and it's being pulled off the market. Can anybody out there help me or refer me to someone???? Desperate in South Dakota.
Hello,
While I do not have a direct recommendation to fix your challenge I would suggest that you focus on everything you can to create ease within your GI tract. Eliminating gluten, chewing your food very thoroughly, using the Complete Probiotic and Dr. Mercola's new digestive enzyme. Also the use of MTT with one of our trained MTT therapist in the clinic to address the mental/emotional component would help since any stress factors create further digestive difficulty.
I understand that this does take away the main challenge but this may help ease some of the nausea.
