Hello.
I was searching your site for information about Novocain and panic attacks and did not find anything. I was wondering if you had any good information on this subject. I did find on a Google search that Novocain has epinephrine in it.
I was having massive panic attacks last year and I recognize that I was under a lot of stress but I was also having a lot of dental work done. My mother began having panic attacks this year and she too is under a lot of stress but the first thing I asked her was if she was having dental work done with Novocain and she was. She even said the first panic attack she had was the night after the dental visit and never put two and two together.
We both thought we were having heart attacks with severe pain in our chests, backs and arms.
I also read somewhere that you can ask for epinephrine free Novocain.
I am just writing here as I trust your information and was curious for ourselves and others about this connection and I understand many people experience panic attacks.
Sincerely,
Signe Nichols

Hello Signe,
Yes, due to the epinephrine in Novocaine this could potentially play a role in panic attacks. I would suggest though that the most substantial role is played within the mental/emotional aspect of this and the Novocaine could have simply created the tipping point.
I would suggest that you call our clinic and set up a phone appointment with one of our MTT therapists to address the mental/emotional aspect. This is one of the leading causes of health challenges in our culture and it is necessary to address.
