I have been taking various antidepressants for about 10 years.  I've read with interest articles stating the benefits of 5HTP for depression and am wanting to switch.  The information in the article states that you should not take 5HTP while taking an antidepressant.  How do I transition from Celexa to 5HTP?

A nurse once told me that coming off antidepressants was similar to withdrawing from narcotics and after trying several times, I'm a believer.  When I described to my doctor that I was having withdrawal she said withdrawal was when you got in your car at midnight and drove across town to 'score'.  I replied that, no, I just got into my car and drove to the drug store and refilled my perfectly legitimate prescription because I couldn't take it any longer.  One is illegal and one is legal, but addiction is addiction.  And I'm miserable.  I've been less than enthused with my results over the years and some medications have had adverse effects - Wellbutrin made me violent.  There has to be a better way and any advise to help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Vickie,

Yes there is a better way but do to the complexity of your challenges we would have to see you as a patient in the clinic.  We have helped thousands within a similar situation as yourself but the answer typically is not the lack of a particular supplement.  If being a patient is an option you would have to be in the Chicago area for the 2 day protocol and any follow ups can be done over the phone.

I live in NC, so a trip to your clinic is not an option.  Thank you for your reply.
