Protein Type with high uric nitrogen and cholesterol

I have been on the protein type diet for over a month and just had a blood test done which showed that my urea nitrogen levels were higher than normal which could due to eating too much protein/fat.  Is this indicative that a protein type diet is not optimal for me?
