Dr. Mercola, I listened to one of your newletters about type 2 diabetes. You said that docs are using drugs that just mask unstead of correct the receptiveness of our lipids. What do I do to change this? I am on insuline,(two types) as well as glucaphage. I am taking a cholestrol reducer as well which I take every other day. It makes me ache. To date all natural things have not worked. That being said, I also truly believe that God has all the natural healing herbs here on earth for us to be healthy.
All my adult life I have watched my weight, working out with weights as well as aerobics. (though it is alot harder these days, I just don't have the drive I used to) The Dr. I am seeing really wants me to be healthy, but I sure would rather do it naturally if possible. As he says, "looking at you...you should not have diabetes, the gene pool got you" My dad is type 2, my son type 1. 205lbs may seem as if I am over weight and I would feel better without the 23lbs I have gained since going on insuline. My chest is 46 in. and I have 16 3/4 in arms, neck and calves. My waste is 34 in.
Please help me! David
For one thing, tell your doctor about your aching from the cholesterol drug, this is due to a depletion of Coenzyme Q 10 in your cells. This is serious and your doctor needs to either:
Take you off of it
or
Put you on Coenzyme Q 10 supplements.
It is unacceptable to be aching with Cholesterol Drugs, this means that you are being depleted of the energy production abilities of every cell in your body.
Next, it's likely that your family has Celiac Disease and that it how the 'gene pool got you'. Diabetes, both Type 1 and Type 2 are AUTOIMMUNE Conditions. doctors would like you to think that it is 'Just Genetics' and there is nothing you can do, but Celiac Disease is likely the cause and you can possibly undo some of the damage (maybe not all) if you get off of Gluten 100%- no exceptions!! And get Dr. Mercola's book 'Take Control', and also do his metabolic typing test.
Celiac Disease runs in families and can be responsible for TONS of other diseases. One research article calls it 'The Great Imitator'. It is the most prevalent genetic disease in the Western World and docs just keep on missing it while people like you are suffering.
