Diabetes and Me

I am a type 2 diabetic. I can’t take any of the pills as I am allergic to them.  I am also allergic to some of the insulin’s.  I do take insulin.  I decided that I was going to beat diabetes shortly after I was diagnosed.  I am not doing badly at it but I could do much better.

I was searching for foods I can eat with recipes when I stumbled across Dr Mercola’s No-Grain Diet.  By doing my best to follow the diet I have lowered my A1C and lowered my minimal use of insulin.  I have reversed retinopathy, kidney failure and the beginnings of neuropathy.  I can see a day coming that I do not take any insulin.

I have many problems I am researching how to fix.  I rather hope I can find others here who share some of my problems and perhaps can shed light on what to do to fix said problems.

My most troublesome problem at the moment is my muscles seem to have gone on strike in regards to exercise.  I was moving along strengthening my muscles and feeling better, I might add, then wham it got hot.  I then started having trouble with my electrolytes.  I solved that problem, but my tendons are still protesting any exercise.  They protest by hurting like I sprained or overly strained them.  When I did nothing of the sort.  The exercises I do I got from a physical therapist this spring after I dislocated my hip and shoulder.

The other problem I seem to have is extreme grain addiction.  I have trouble staying on the diet. The hardest time is evening.  I can do really well all day but come evening all bets are off.

It is really hard to find foods that I like and can eat.  I am allergic to many foods.  Peppers, nuts, some seeds and fibers.

All for now.

Hi Shadow Wolf,

Congratulations on all your efforts. The difficulty sticking with the no grain diet is caused by insulin resistance. When cells are insulin resistant, they are also glucose resistant. Cells require insulin to admit glucose. When we don't have enough cellular uptake of glucose, the brain signals for more sugar -- even when our blood sugars are high. Both my parents are type 2 and I was pre-diabetic. We started taking Gluco-Z from Within Sciences (where I work) and have had extraordinary success. My 79 year old mother is off insulin now and never goes over 110. My 83 year old father, who won't give up his ice cream, is now rarely over 140 when he used to get into the high 200s. I am no longer testing in pre-diabetic ranges, have lost weight and no longer have any kind of cravings. The problem of insulin resistance is caused by intestinal and cellular zinc malabsorption. This was studied for over 30 years at VA hospital by researcher Dr. Moon Song. He developed the Gluco-Z compound to defeat zinc malabsorption. Zinc is used for three functions in cellular insulin metabolism. With it, insulin is broken down in the cell, waste removed, and receptor sites are opened. This compound has been studied in two clincal trials including one phase 1 trial wherein all participants had improvements in blood sugar levels as insulin resistance was relieved. We have had great success as well with our customers as we began shipping GZ in March of this year. Diet and exercise are very important in dealing with Diabetes, but unless this chemical imbalance is addressed, it is a challenge for people with Diabetes to maintain.

Be well!

Cont from my last entry.

I am actually doing quite well with the Diabetes.  I started with a A1C of 6.5, 2 ½ years ago, seems like longer.  I am now steady at 5.9.  My blood sugar range is 80 to 140.  I am steadily reducing my insulin.  I am down to 5 units NPH once a day and 2 to 4 units R every day, both Humulin.  I started at 12 units NPH am and 5 units NPH pm with 2 to 3 units R as needed.

I would probably do even better if I could stick to the diet.   The foods on the diet that I can and will eat and also know how to cook are rather few.  I kind of get sick of the same ole same ole.

I got to where I am by exercise and a mostly the no grain diet.  I have done extensive research in reversing diabetes.

I have tried many supplements and most do not work and play well with my system.  I have discovered many things diabetics and pre diabetics can do, that work and that are not talked about but again they do not work and play well with my system.   Like the super fiber and chia seeds.

I am currently researching super foods. I am thinking that super foods may be what I need to do since many supplements and I don’t work and play well together.  I already eat many of them and drink may of the teas.  I just finished researching diets and cellular biology.  I have learned EFT and have researched other methods to change ones subconscious scripting.

I am a firm believer that what we think, we are.  Or put another way, what we think about influences our health and life.

I know I am doing something right as my insulin resistance is diminishing.  However I still have other issues.  I am tired all the time and wilt in the afternoon right after lunch.  This is not really new since diabetes.  I have always wilted to some degree.  I have inflammation going on and are actively working on fixing a leaky gut. The most troublesome to me is the muscle thing described above.  I am planning on doing the ultrasimple diet.  I know I need to detox and then continuing to test some foods is a real good idea from my standpoint.  Since I have many, many allergies and quite a few are to foods.

Because I have had so much success people ask me all the time what I did.  Since I had so many ask I created a website about diabetes.  I was sad that no one had anything other than the ADA standards that I feel are incorrect. I believe that the ADA standards feed the medical industrial complex and in the end you loose because if you follow their standards you will slowly develop complications that in my opinion can be avoided and often reversed.

Thank you within scientist for the information  I will certainly look into the research.  Your testimony is very helpful.  Thanks You!

Eating coconut oil might give you more energy to carry you through your workouts. It gets used for energy instead of getting stored for fat.

In the morning I make a smothie with 2 scoops of Hemp Protien Powder, cup of bluberries, and a couple of raw eggs. This helps me with the

energy for workouts. Your sore muscles and tendons sounds like a slow recovery problem. That could be solved by a formula discovered by

Dr. Joe McCord, called Portandim. You can learn all about it at: www.lifevantage.com You might also make sure you are getting enough vitamin A

and correct Cal / Mag balance. Have questions, email at:  lannywebb@rocketmail.com
