I am looking into supplementing Vitamin D for myself and my 15-month old son.  Would Dr. Mercola's spray vitamin D be ok to give my child?  I am also 23-weeks pregnant and would like to make sure this is ok for myself. Thanks!

Vitamin D is not only safe for both you and your son, but absolutely vital. There are some who even believe that your lifelong health is dictated by your PRENATAL vitamin D levels!! The BEST thing for you to do, is to get a Vitamin D Level- both for you AND your son and give enough vitamin D to get your levels up to between 40 to 80 ng/ml.

I'll bet that you will be SHOCKED at how low your levels are!! There are some Vitamin D researchers who refuse to give an 'average' dose for people because he believes that vitamin D needs vary WILDLY from person to person and therefore everyone needs to get a level and supplement enough vitamin d to get your levels up.

Most researchers think that kids should get about 2000 IU's a day and pregnant women up to 7500 IU's per day!! That's WAY more than you would have ever thought,, huh?

So really, for the health of your babies AND for yourself, get your vitamin D level done.

Hi, I'm wondering the same thing.  I have two kids ages 4 and 9 and I would like to use the spray on them.  I emailed the Mercola staff and they said that Dr. Mercola did not have a dosage recommendation for children because it had only been tried by adults prior to it's release.  I don't think that it could hurt them, but I don't want to give them too much.  I'm curious if anyone is currently using this supplement for their children.  If so, I'd love to hear from them.

Its best to get it from safe sun exposure between 10 and 2 , 10 to 15 mins. Can take it in very high doses for about a week. Mercola had post that it take 4000 units to maintain your levels for adults.

I have a 9 month old son who is still primarily on breast milk and I want to make sure his Vit D levels are sufficient.  When and how are levels tested in infants?  I had my levels tested in June and they were 110 (it was done by labcorp). So I stopped taking my vit D supplement as I figured with summer I would be getting plenty from the sun and my levels were already too high.  How long does it take for the levels to change?  When should I recheck my levels? Thank you for any info in this area of health and wellness.
